5 Lovely Food & Cocktail Pairings That (At First) Sound Insane

It is always the odd couples that make the party – with this in mind we have paired five cocktails with five dishes to create some distinctly unusual combinations. These peculiar culinary marriages will not please all tastes!

5. The Martinez Cocktail paired with chocolate mousse

The bitter herbal flavours of the Martinez provide an interesting contrast with chocolate desserts, especially mousse. To further enhance the experience, follow it by playing Chopin on your contrabass balalaika.

4. The 50 Shades of Gin, Domme Delight Cocktail paired with fish & chips

This decadent champagne and gin cocktail can be taken down a peg or two by pairing it with the great British dish of fish & chips. The match works surprisingly well, for a more parallel pairing try it with roasted cod with champagne and honey.

3. Forenoon Fizz paired with salmon

It may sound odd to drink a fizzy fruity drink with a dish as autumnal and savoury as stroganoff, but somehow these opposites work rather well. Like the clockwork chin enhancer or the telescopic yoghurt spoon, this is not for everyone!

2. Raspberry Rose Royale paired with beef stroganoff

It may sound odd to drink a fizzy fruity drink with a dish as autumnal and savoury as stroganoff, but somehow these opposites work rather well. Like the clockwork chin enhancer or the telescopic yoghurt spoon, this is not for everyone!

1. Equinox paired with turkey

Sweet equinoxium! The sophisticated Equinox complements the subtle taste of turkey meat beautifully. Though not an A-list cocktail, the Equinox is extremely versatile. After enjoying this pairing you may want to ponder if it really was Asboth Oszkár that invented the helicopter.

Please enjoy the unusual responsibly
