‘Life is not a race, nor is it an avocado or a talking peacock. It is not a theremin played by quintuplets, or a labradoodle in the Finnish town of Tampere.’ so began the speech that I, Bottle 260, was writing. I was sitting (to the extent that a bottle can sit) in the blinding sunlight of Kefalonia, shielding my venerated gin beneath a butterfly-print parasol. I had said goodbye to the gothic icy glamour of Girvan for the lacuscular beauty of the Greek island of Kefalonia. I had eloped with my lover, a mint plant of the name of Hierba Buena.
